Elegant and easy poached pears: a healthy dessert option.
Ingredients:
  • 750.00 gm white wine
  • 750.00 gm water
  • 645.00 gm caster sugar
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 vanilla bean
  • 6 pears
Instructions:
  • In a large saucepan, combine 3 cups of white wine, 3 cups of water, and 3 cups of caster sugar. Add 2 broken cinnamon sticks and 1 split vanilla bean. Stir over low heat until the sugar dissolves, then gently simmer.
  • Peel and core 6 pears, then place them in the poaching liquid. Cover with a circle of baking paper and a lid. Cook over low heat for 40 minutes, turning occasionally, until the pears are very tender.
  • Gently transfer pears from the fragrant liquid to individual serving bowls. Drizzle with a generous amount of the sweet poaching liquid. Enjoy these delectable pears warm or allow them to come to room temperature before indulging.
