Decadent and irresistible pecan sticky buns, perfect for a cozy brunch.
Ingredients:
  • 4.5 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 0.5 cup warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
  • 1.25 cups buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 5.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup margarine, softened
  • 0.5 cup white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 0.5 cup packed brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup butter, melted
Instructions:
  • In a large mixing bowl, mix yeast with warm water. Add buttermilk, eggs, 2 1/2 cups flour, margarine, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Blend for 30 seconds on low speed, scraping sides. Beat for 2 minutes on medium speed. Stir in the remaining 3 cups flour. Knead for 5 minutes on a lightly floured board (about 200 turns). Cover dough and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  • Divide the dough in half and roll each into a 12x7 inch rectangle. Spread 1 tablespoon soft butter on each half, then sprinkle with 1/4 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon. Roll them up starting at the wide side, pinch the seams to seal well, and cut each roll into 12 slices.
  • Prepare the cake pans by generously coating them with luxurious melted butter, a sprinkle of rich brown sugar, and a generous portion of crunchy chopped pecans in each. Arrange 12 delectable slices of dough in each pan, ensuring they have room to rise and double in size, creating irresistibly fluffy and flavorful cakes.
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) for a perfect bake.
  • After baking the buns in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, quickly flip the pans over onto serving plates.
