Indulge in irresistible pecan turtle bars - a crowd-pleasing, simple delight for all ages.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup butter, softened
  • 0.66666668653488 cup butter
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
Instructions:
  • Heat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • For the crust: In a large mixer bowl, mix flour, brown sugar, and softened butter until it forms fine crumbs, about 2 to 3 minutes. Press the mixture into an ungreased 13x9-inch baking pan evenly to form the crust.
  • Prepare the turtle layer by melting butter and brown sugar in a saucepan over medium heat until bubbles cover the entire surface. Stir constantly for an additional 30 to 60 seconds, then remove from heat.
  • Evenly distribute the pecans over the crust, then drizzle the hot brown sugar mixture on top.
  • Bake until the surface is bubbly, about 18-20 minutes in the preheated oven.
  • 1. Take the dish out of the oven and place it on a wire rack. Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over the top and allow them to melt for 2 to 3 minutes. Swirl the melted chocolate gently using a knife or small spatula.
  • Allow to cool completely for about 30 minutes, then cut into 48 bars using a sharp knife.
