Festive green peppermint chocolate chip cookies, perfect for Christmas.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 cups white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 10 drops green food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 3.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 (12 ounce) bag dark chocolate chips
Instructions:
  • In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together sugar and butter until fluffy. Mix in eggs, egg yolk, green food coloring, and peppermint extract until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, blend flour, baking powder, baking soda, cream of tartar, and kosher salt. Combine into the egg mixture until a dough forms. Gently stir in chocolate chips. Chill the dough covered in the fridge until ready to scoop, for about 1 hour.
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 350°F (175°C) and cover 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Spoon dough onto baking sheets, keeping 2-inch spaces between each.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until edges are golden, for 8 to 10 minutes. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 1 minute, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
