Festive green chocolate chip cookies with a hint of peppermint, ideal for holiday celebrations.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons hot water
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 10 drops green food coloring, or more to taste
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a large bowl, blend together butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until creamy using an electric mixer. Add eggs, vanilla extract, and peppermint extract. Mix baking soda in hot water and incorporate into the batter.
  • In a separate bowl, mix flour, salt, and cream of tartar. Gradually add this mixture to the batter, stirring well. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Spoon batter onto baking sheets without greasing.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes until edges are golden brown. Let cool on the baking sheets for 1 minute, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
