Peppermint PEEPS® Hot Chocolate Mug Cake

Indulge in a cozy peppermint chocolate mug cake topped with a festive PEEPS® chick for a delightful treat.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ Devil's Food Cake Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on cake mix box
  • 1 tub (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Chocolate Frosting
  • 30 PEEPS® brand candy cane flavored marshmallow chicks
Instructions:
  • Line 20 muffin cups with paper baking cups and lightly spray with cooking oil. In a large bowl, mix cake mix, water, oil, and eggs with an electric mixer on low speed until combined, then increase to medium speed for 2 minutes, scraping the bowl occasionally.
  • Divide batter evenly among 20 muffin cups. Freeze until solid, approximately 6 hours. Transfer frozen muffins to two 1-gallon freezer bags, removing excess air. Store in the freezer for up to 3 months.
  • Prepare your mug by spraying it with cooking spray. Add the frozen cake batter without the paper baking cup into the mug. Cut a PEEPS® chick in half, and cut one half into 4 to 5 pieces. Place the pieces on the cake batter in the mug; save the remaining half for later use.
  • Microwave on High for 45 to 50 seconds until cake is set on top and edge pulls away from mug. Add 1 tablespoon of chocolate frosting, then garnish with a whole PEEPS® chick before serving.
