Marinate flat iron steak in garlic-herb blend for ultimate flavor boost.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (2 pound) flat iron steak
  • 2.5 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 0.25 teaspoon chopped fresh rosemary
  • 0.5 teaspoon chopped fresh chives
  • 0.25 cup Cabernet Sauvignon (or other dry red wine)
  • 0.75 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon dry mustard powder
Instructions:
  • In a large resealable bag, add the steak. Combine olive oil, garlic, parsley, rosemary, chives, red wine, salt, pepper, and mustard powder in a small bowl.
  • Cover the steak with the delicious marinade in the bag, removing any excess air before sealing it. Allow the steak to marinate in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 hours.
  • Preheat a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steak for 3 to 4 minutes on each side until cooked to your liking. Check for medium rare doneness with an instant-read thermometer, aiming for 130°F (54°C) in the center.
  • Strain and toss out the marinade. Let the steaks rest for 5 minutes, then serve.
