Perfectly crafted sushi rice for exquisite sushi rolls and nigiri.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups uncooked glutinous white rice (sushi rice)
  • 3 cups water
  • 0.5 cup rice vinegar
  • 0.25 cup white sugar
Instructions:
  • Prepare all the ingredients.
  • Thoroughly wash the rice in a strainer or colander with cold running water until the water runs clear.
  • In a saucepan, cook rice and water over medium-high heat until boiling. Lower the heat, cover, and simmer until rice is tender and water is absorbed, approximately 20 minutes. Set aside to cool.
  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, blend rice vinegar, oil, sugar, and salt until sugar dissolves. Let it cool, then fold into the cooked rice. The mixture may seem wet initially, but stir continuously; the rice will dry as it cools.
