Try this mouthwatering turkey injection with garlic marinade and butter rub for a tender, juicy Thanksgiving turkey.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 0.5 cup lemon juice
  • 0.5 cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon English mustard powder
  • 1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 sprigs fresh rosemary, leaves stripped and finely chopped
  • 2 sprigs fresh thyme, leaves stripped and chopped
  • 1 (14 pound) whole turkey, neck and giblets removed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil, or to taste
Instructions:
  • Prepare your ingredients.
  • Prepare the marinade by combining chicken broth, lemon juice, melted butter, mustard powder, ginger, and garlic in a bowl. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 30 minutes to enhance the flavors.
  • Prepare the rub by thoroughly blending together softened butter, garlic, rosemary, and thyme until fully mixed.
  • Gently loosen the skin from the turkey meat by carefully sliding your hand underneath. Spread the rub mixture evenly under the skin in multiple sections of the turkey.
  • Fill the meat injector with marinade, then inject the juiciest sections of the turkey, twisting the needle to evenly distribute the marinade.
  • Coat turkey generously with olive oil, sprinkle with salt and pepper. Transfer to a roasting pan and tightly cover with plastic wrap. Chill in the refrigerator for 12 to 24 hours before preparing as desired.
