Quick and easy Philly cheese steak Sloppy Joes made in one skillet, served on whole wheat buns.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 0.5 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 0.5 yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons beef bouillon granules
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.75 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 whole wheat hamburger buns, split
Instructions:
  • Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown and crumble the beef for 5 to 7 minutes. Add bell peppers, onion, and garlic; sauté for an additional 5 minutes until beginning to soften.
  • Combine water, cornstarch, bouillon, and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl. Pour the mixture into the beef in the skillet. Cover, simmer on low heat until sauce thickens and veggies are tender, about 7 to 10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper, then add mozzarella cheese. Cover until melted, approximately 2 minutes. Stir well to combine before serving.
  • Enjoy the savory beef mixture sandwiched between soft buns, Sloppy Joe-style.
