A delicious and simple classic dish.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (18.25 ounce) package white cake mix
  • 1 (3.5 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 0.25 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 (3 ounce) package fruit flavored Jell-O® mix
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup ice water
  • 1 (12 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
Instructions:
  • First, preheat your oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Then, generously grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • Blend together the cake mix, pudding mix, eggs, 1 cup water, and vegetable oil until smooth. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed for 4 minutes. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  • Bake the cake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 45 to 50 minutes until it springs back when lightly touched. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 15 minutes.
  • Dissolve the gelatin in boiling water, then gently mix in the cold water.
  • Using a fork, make even holes in the warm cake at half-inch intervals. Pour the gelatin over the cake. Chill the cake for 3 to 4 hours, and then top it with whipped topping. Store the cake in the refrigerator.
