Creamy caraway-infused sour cream sauce with sauerkraut and Polish sausages.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 potatoes, sliced
  • 1 cup sliced carrots
  • 2 tablespoons beef bouillon granules
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon caraway seeds
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can sauerkraut, drained
  • 1 pound kielbasa sausage
  • 2 teaspoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • In a large skillet with a lid, melt the butter over medium heat. Sauté the onion and garlic until the onion turns translucent, for about 5 minutes. Add water, potatoes, carrots, beef bouillon granules, sugar, and caraway seeds. Bring to a boil, then simmer until the potatoes and carrots are tender, stirring occasionally, for about 15 minutes.
  • Layer the sauerkraut on top of the vegetables, then arrange the sausages on top. Cover and cook for approximately 15 minutes until the sausages are heated through.
  • Combine the flour with the sour cream and mix well. Stir the mixture into the sauerkraut. Simmer until the sour cream thickens, then season with salt and pepper before serving hot.
