Delicious and easy polka dot cake using Betty Crocker™ white cake mix.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ White Cake Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and egg whites called for on cake mix box
  • 1 tub (12 oz) Betty Crocker™ Whipped Fluffy White Frosting
  • Red food color
  • 1/2 cup round pink and orange candy melts or coating wafers (3 oz)
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pans). Grease two 9- or 8-inch round cake pans with baking spray that includes flour.
  • Prepare the cake batter according to the package instructions, then bake in two 9- or 8-inch round pans as directed. Allow the cakes to cool completely before proceeding.
  • Add 1-2 drops of food color to 1/3 cup of the frosting to achieve your desired shade of pink.
  • Place one cake layer with the rounded side down on the serving plate and generously spread pink frosting over the layer, nearly reaching the edges. Add the second layer with the rounded side up and frost the sides and top of the cake with the remaining frosting.
  • Decorate the sides and top of the cake with candies to your liking. Keep the cake covered loosely before serving.
