Have a fun family cooking session making Easter treats with the kids.
Ingredients:
  • 125g butter, at room temperature
  • 100g (1/2 cup) caster sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 53.60 gm golden syrup
  • 8.80 gm vanilla essence
  • 375g (2 1/2 cups) plain flour
  • 1.25 gm bicarbonate of soda
  • 300g (2 cups) pure icing sugar, sifted
  • 60ml (1/4 cup) milk
  • 150g (3/4 cup) Mars M&M’s
  • 75g (1/3 cup) Mars M&M’s Minis
Instructions:
  • - Preheat the oven to 150°C and line 3 baking trays with non-stick baking paper. - Use an electric beater to mix the butter, sugar, egg, golden syrup, and vanilla in a bowl until pale and creamy. - Add the flour and bicarbonate of soda, then stir with a wooden spoon until well combined. - Transfer the mixture onto a floured surface and knead gently until smooth.
  • Roll out the biscuit dough to 5mm thickness between two sheets of baking paper. Use a 6.5cm egg-shaped cutter to create egg shapes. Transfer them onto prepared trays and bake for 15 minutes until golden. Allow them to cool slightly before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • In a bowl, combine icing sugar with milk gradually, stirring until smooth (you may not need all the milk). Spread over the biscuits. Top with M&M’s and M&M’s Minis. Let it sit for 15 minutes to set.
