Savory poppy seed onion rolls, a family favorite with a twist.
Ingredients:
  • 2 large onions, grated
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • 0.75 cup vegetable oil
  • 0.25 cup warm water
  • 4 teaspoons poppy seeds
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 cups flour
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) for the perfect cooking environment.
  • Prepare the baking sheet by greasing it lightly or lining it with baking parchment.
  • Combine onions, sugar, egg, vegetable oil, and warm water in a large bowl and beat with an electric mixer until smooth.
  • Incorporate the baking powder, salt, pepper, and poppy seeds into the onion mixture.
  • Gradually add the flour to the onion mixture while mixing on Low speed until a dough forms.
  • Using a tablespoon, place dollops of dough onto the baking sheet.
  • Bake until the top is beautifully golden, approximately 20-30 minutes in the preheated oven.
