Indulge in crispy pork schnitzels with refreshing apple mint sauce. Elevate your dining experience.
Ingredients:
  • 300g pork leg steaks, cut in half
  • 125.00 ml plain flour (seasoned with salt and pepper)
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 64.38 gm light milk
  • 250.00 ml dried breadcrumbs
  • 750g sweet potato, peeled
  • Olive oil cooking spray
  • 2 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, chopped
  • 40.00 gm water
  • 1/4 tsp allspice
  • 20.00 ml mint leaves, chopped
Instructions:
  • Sandwich pork steaks between plastic wrap and tenderize until thin. Set up 3 bowls with seasoned flour, a mixture of egg and milk, and breadcrumbs respectively. Dredge steaks in flour, then egg mix, then breadcrumbs. Transfer coated steaks to a plate, cover, and refrigerate until use.
  • Preheat your oven to 200C. Line two baking trays with baking paper. Cut sweet potato into 1.5cm-thick chips and place them on one tray. Lightly spray with oil and bake for 30 minutes, turning the chips occasionally until crispy.
  • On a separate tray, arrange the schnitzels and give them a light coat of oil. Put them in the oven below the chips. Bake everything for an additional 25 minutes or until the crumbs on the schnitzels are crispy and the chips are golden brown.
  • Prepare a delicious apple mint sauce by gently simmering apples, water, and sugar in a saucepan until the sugar dissolves. Cover and continue to simmer until the apples are soft, then add allspice and fresh mint for a burst of flavor.
  • Present schnitzels alongside a side of crispy sweet potato chips and a flavorful apple mint sauce.
