Kickstart your morning with a vibrant and flavorful fruit porridge.
Ingredients:
  • 200.00 gm rolled oats
  • 500.00 gm boiling water
  • 515.00 gm milk
  • 45.00 gm brown sugar
  • 0.60 gm salt
  • 393.75 gm orange juice
  • 112.50 gm white sugar
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 x 200g packets dried fruit salad
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, combine orange juice, sugar, and cinnamon sticks. Stir until sugar dissolves, then bring to a boil. Add dried fruit and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until fruit is tender yet firm. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • In a large saucepan, combine rolled oats and boiling water. Let stand uncovered for 10 minutes to soften the oats.
  • Combine milk, sugar, and salt with oats. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, for about 2 minutes or until the sugar has completely dissolved.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil, then simmer on low heat, stirring occasionally, for 15 to 20 minutes until it thickens and the oats are tender. Serve in bowls topped with fruit compote.
