Southern-style pralines: Toasted pecans, butter, sugar, milk combine for a creamy, melt-in-your-mouth candy.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 cups toasted pecans
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 0.375 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
  • Prepare all ingredients. Cover a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  • In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine pecans, white sugar, brown sugar, milk, butter, and vanilla. Allow the mixture to come to a boil without stirring. Continue heating until it reaches 240 degrees F (115 degrees C) or until a small amount dropped into cold water forms a soft ball that flattens when placed on a flat surface.
  • Spoon dollops onto the baking sheet and allow to cool thoroughly.
