Create a magical princess cake using a special baking pan and colorful candies for a fairy tale-inspired treat!
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ White Cake Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and egg whites called for on cake mix box
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons red food color
  • 1 can (6.4 oz) Betty Crocker™ Easy Flow pink decorating icing
  • 1 cup round colored candies
  • 11 banana-shaped hard candies
  • 11 candy wafers
  • 1/2 cup pillow mints
  • Small candy-coated gum pieces, if desired
  • 4 Betty Crocker™ crazy curl candles
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 325°F. Grease the Nordic Ware® Castle Bundt® cake pan generously with flour, or spray with baking spray with flour for easy release.
  • Combine cake ingredients in a large bowl and mix with an electric mixer on low speed for 30 seconds, then increase to medium speed for 2 minutes, scraping the bowl occasionally. Transfer the batter to the pan.
  • Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick in the center of the cake. If it comes out clean, bake for 36 to 42 minutes. Let it cool for 10 minutes. Trim the top of the cake with a long serrated knife if needed. Invert the pan onto a cooling rack and let it cool for about an hour until completely cooled.
  • Transfer the cake to a 12- to 15-inch serving plate or tray covered with foil. Use a piping bag to create a decorative pink icing base around the bottom of the cake. Arrange round candies in 3 rows on the icing base. Place additional round candies on top of the cake to decorate the castle, securing them in place with icing.
  • - Use a piping bag to carefully outline windows on the cake; place 1 banana-shaped candy on top of each window. Press a candy wafer, flat side up, into the cake at the bottom of each window to create windowsills. Outline the door, roof, and entrance of the castle with icing. Place mints in the icing at the entrance to create a walkway. Add gum to the roof for shingles. Finish by placing a candle on top of each tower. Store the cake loosely covered.
