Cream cheese adds tangy richness to pumpkin bread for a standout treat.
Ingredients:
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 0.25 cup margarine
  • 1.25 cups white sugar
  • 1 cup canned pumpkin
  • 1.75 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 0.5 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to a perfect 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously grease a 9x5x3 inch loaf pan.
  • Combine the softened cheese, butter, and sugar in a mixing bowl. Cream them together until well combined. Add the eggs one at a time, beating until blended. Stir in the pumpkin.
  • Combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, cloves, and walnuts in a separate bowl. Mix until well combined. Pour mixture over batter in one go and gently mix until just moistened. Transfer to a greased 9x5x3 inch loaf pan.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a rack to finish cooling.
