Colorful peas complement creamy pasta with smoky bacon and ham.
Ingredients:
  • 3 cups rigatoni pasta
  • 6 slices bacon, diced
  • 1.25 cups milk
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, cut into cubes
  • 0.5 cup butter, softened
  • 0.5 cup freshly shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 0.25 cup fresh green peas
  • 0.25 cup diced cooked ham
Instructions:
  • 1. Boil a big pot of lightly salted water. Add rigatoni and cook, stirring occasionally, until al dente, about 13 minutes. Drain the pasta.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook bacon until evenly browned, about 10 minutes, turning occasionally. Remove cooked bacon with a slotted spoon, leaving drippings in the pan; set bacon aside.
  • In the remaining bacon grease, sauté garlic until fragrant. Add milk, cream cheese, and butter to the skillet and stir until creamy. Mix in Parmesan cheese, peas, ham, and bacon, cooking until peas are warm, approximately 5 minutes. Toss pasta into the sauce before serving.
