Colorful rainbow sugar cookies made in just 1 hour using Betty Crocker mix.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pouch (17.5 oz) Betty Crocker™ Sugar Cookie Mix
  • 1 tablespoon Gold Medal™ unbleached or all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • Blue, red, yellow and green food colors
  • Betty Crocker™ Decorating Decors multicolored sprinkles
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (or 350°F for a dark or nonstick cookie sheet). In a large bowl, mix together the cookie mix and flour. Add the butter and egg, and stir until a dough forms.
  • Divide the dough into 4 portions and place them in separate small bowls. Add a few drops of blue food coloring to one bowl and stir until the dough is evenly tinted, adding more coloring as needed. Repeat this process with the remaining 3 bowls of dough and different food colors.
  • Roll each portion of tinted dough into 24 grape-size balls on a lightly floured surface. Press together 4 balls (1 ball of each color) to resemble a miniature beach ball. Roll into a 5-inch rope, then coil into a spiral shape. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and top with sprinkles. Repeat with remaining dough.
  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until set. Let it cool for 1 minute, then transfer from the baking sheet to a cooling rack. Ensure it cools completely before storing.
