Create stunning poinsettia blossom cookies for a vibrant dessert display.
Ingredients:
  • 3/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 box (4-serving size) Jell-O™ raspberry-flavored gelatin
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons yellow candy sprinkles
Instructions:
  • Combine softened butter, sugar, fragrant vanilla, gelatin, and egg in a large bowl. Use an electric mixer on medium speed or mix with a spoon until well combined. Gradually add in flour on low speed until just incorporated.
  • Roll the dough into small 1 1/4-inch balls, then cover and refrigerate for 1 hour.
  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Place dough balls onto ungreased cookie sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart. Use a sharp knife to create 6 cuts on the top of each ball, going three-fourths of the way through to form 6 wedges. Gently spread the wedges apart to resemble flower petals (cookies will expand during baking). Finally, add a sprinkle of yellow candy sprinkles into the center of each cookie.
  • Bake for 9 to 11 minutes until edges turn golden brown. Let cool for 2 to 3 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack. Allow to cool completely for about 15 minutes.
