Jam-filled sugar cookie strips, a twist on a classic 1954 recipe.
Ingredients:
  • 0.66666668653488 cup butter, softened
  • 0.66666668653488 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.5 cup raspberry preserves
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) for the perfect cooking temperature.
  • Combine smooth butter and sugar in a medium bowl. Add egg and vanilla to the mixture. Stir in flour and baking powder until a soft dough forms. Divide the dough into 4 pieces.
  • Form each piece of dough into a 12-inch log, placing them on a baking sheet and gently pressing to flatten. Use the round handle of a wooden spoon to create a groove down the center of each strip, then fill with preserves.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, then cool slightly before cutting into 1-inch diagonal pieces.
