Irresistible homemade cheese sauce with real Cheddar, milk, and butter elevates nachos and broccoli.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 0.5 cup milk, or more as needed
  • 1.5 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese
  • 1 teaspoon taco seasoning mix
  • 0.5 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan over medium-high heat, melt the butter. Whisk in the cornstarch until a paste forms, which should take about 30 seconds to 1 minute. Gradually whisk in the milk until smooth, which will take about 1 to 2 minutes. Simmer until the mixture thickens to a sauce consistency, approximately 2 minutes.
  • Combine Cheddar cheese, cream cheese, taco seasoning, and hot sauce with milk mixture, whisking until smooth. Adjust consistency by adding more milk if needed. Keep warm until serving.
