Make vibrant red cabbage slaw ahead for bold, irresistible flavor explosion.
Ingredients:
  • 1 head red cabbage, cored and sliced as thinly as possible
  • 0.75 cup red wine vinegar
  • 5 tablespoons white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt (such as LAWRY'S®)
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 0.5 cup olive oil
Instructions:
  • Place sliced cabbage into a spacious resealable plastic bag.
  • Combine red wine vinegar, sugar, balsamic vinegar, salt, onion powder, seasoned salt, and black pepper in a bowl. Pour this flavorful mixture over the cabbage in a bag. Gently massage the bag to coat the cabbage evenly. Remove air from the bag, seal it, and you're ready to go.
  • Refrigerate cabbage in marinade, gently massaging the bag multiple times daily, until cabbage is softened and marinade turns deep purple, for a minimum of 2 days.
  • Drizzle olive oil over the cabbage mixture in the bag, then toss to coat. Seal and refrigerate for an additional hour before serving.
