Slow Cooker Red Cabbage and Apple Side Dish: Simply set it and forget it for a mouthwatering meal when you return home.
Ingredients:
  • 1 medium head red cabbage, coarsely shredded (8 cups)
  • 2 medium tart red apples, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 3 tablespoons cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon margarine or butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
  • Combine all the ingredients in a 3 1/2- to 6-quart slow cooker.
  • Simmer covered on low for 6 to 8 hours until the cabbage is melt-in-your-mouth tender.
