Indulgent red velvet cookies with cocoa and dark chocolate, ideal for festive celebrations or a romantic touch.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.33333334326744 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 cup butter, softened
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup white sugar
  • 1.5 tablespoons milk
  • 1.5 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons red food coloring
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips, or as needed
Instructions:
  • Combine flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt; whisk them in a bowl until well mixed.
  • Using an electric mixer, beat fluffy butter for about 2 minutes. Add brown sugar and white sugar, continue beating until smooth for about 1 minute. Beat in egg, milk, and vanilla extract, followed by food coloring until evenly colored.
  • Gradually mix flour into butter with electric mixer on low until combined, then fold in 1 cup chocolate chips. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour or up to overnight.
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), and neatly line your baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Form dough into perfect 2-inch balls, then gently flatten on baking sheets.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes until the edges are lightly browned. Sprinkle with a few more chocolate chips and let the cookies cool completely.
