Indulge in a cozy winter treat with velvety red wine hot chocolate topped with frothy cream.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 cups half-and-half, divided
  • 4 ounces semisweet Belgian chocolate (43% cacao)
  • 1.5 teaspoons white sugar
  • 0.5 cup Cabernet Sauvignon
  • 1 pinch grated chocolate
Instructions:
  • In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, melt Belgian chocolate with 1 cup of half-and-half. Stir occasionally with a whisk until smooth and hot, about 5 minutes. Incorporate Cabernet Sauvignon and continue heating for an additional 2 minutes, whisking occasionally. Pour the decadent mixture into 2 mugs and enjoy a luxurious treat!
  • Warm the remaining 1/2 cup of half-and-half until hot, either on the stove or in the microwave. Froth until creamy using a milk frother, then divide between the 2 mugs and top with grated chocolate.
