Indulgent hot chocolate for one, with bittersweet chocolate, cream, half-and-half, and a splash of red wine.
Ingredients:
  • 0.75 cup fat free half-and-half
  • 0.25 cup whipping cream
  • 0.25 cup fine-quality bittersweet chocolate (preferably 70% cacao), finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 cup red wine
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan over low heat, gently heat half of the half-and-half and half of the cream. Add chopped chocolate and whisk constantly until melted, about 2 to 3 minutes. Stir in the remaining half-and-half, remaining cream, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon.
  • Pour a generous splash of robust red wine into the bubbling mixture and let it simmer for approximately 3 minutes. Take the pot off the heat and elegantly transfer the contents into a charming coffee mug for a delightful presentation.
