Delicious cranberry-cinnamon poached pears.
Ingredients:
  • 3 cups cranberry juice cocktail
  • 0.25 cup white sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 8 Bosc pears, peeled with stems intact
Instructions:
  • In a large saucepan, combine cranberry juice, sugar, and a cinnamon stick. Simmer over medium heat until the sugar dissolves. Simultaneously, peel the pears, keeping the stems on.
  • Add the pears to the simmering juice, cover, and cook for 15 to 20 minutes until tender, turning occasionally. Remove from heat, let cool to room temperature, turning the pears occasionally to ensure even color.
