New York street dog-inspired appetizer: RITZ cracker topped with hot dog, onions, and mustard for a tasty bite-sized snack.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons corn oil
  • 2 cups diced onions
  • 2 teaspoons Louisiana-style hot pepper sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 5 cooked hot dogs, sliced into 8 pieces each
  • 40 RITZ Crackers
  • 3 tablespoons prepared yellow mustard
Instructions:
  • In a skillet over medium-high heat, sauté diced onions in oil until soft and any liquid has evaporated, around 8 minutes.
  • Add hot pepper sauce, sugar, and chili powder. Let it simmer for 2 minutes. Stir in tomato paste and water. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
  • Place RITZ Crackers neatly on a platter, then crown each cracker with a savory slice of cooked hot dog. Finish by delicately spooning a bit of the delightful hot dog onions over each one.
  • Pour the yellow mustard over the onions and serve warm.
