Roasted pears with prosciutto

Prosciutto-wrapped sugar-roasted pears: elegant, healthy, and irresistible appetizer.
Ingredients:
  • 3 firm ripe pears
  • 40.00 ml balsamic vinegar
  • 20.00 gm caster sugar
  • 6 slices prosciutto
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 180°C. Halve the pears lengthwise, then use a small sharp knife or teaspoon to remove the cores. Cut each pear half into 3 wedges.
  • Arrange the pear slices in a baking dish in a single layer. Drizzle with vinegar and oil, then sprinkle with sugar. Roast for 45 minutes, turning occasionally, until the pear is soft, golden, and the liquid is thick and syrupy. Let it cool completely.
  • Cut each slice of prosciutto into three long strips. Wrap each wedge of pear with a strip of prosciutto. Place elegantly on a platter and generously drizzle with the flavorful pan juices before serving.
