Oven-roasted kielbasa with sauerkraut, onions, caraway seeds, and apples, all cooked together in convenient foil packets for easy cleanup.
Ingredients:
  • Reynolds Wrap® Heavy Duty Aluminum Foil
  • 1 (32 ounce) package sauerkraut, drained
  • 2 (13 ounce) packages smoked kielbasa sausage, cut into bite-size pieces
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon caraway seeds
  • 2 green apples, coarsely chopped
  • Salt to taste
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Prepare a flavorful packet by arranging sauerkraut, sausage, onion, oil, butter, pepper, and caraway seeds in the center of a large sheet of heavy-duty aluminum foil. Seal the ingredients in the foil by folding the top and ends, allowing heat to circulate inside.
  • Roast the foil package on the baking sheet in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
  • Take the packet out of the oven, carefully cut along the top fold with a sharp knife. Let the steam out, then open the foil packet and mix in green apples. Reseal the foil, adding more if needed, then bake for an additional 10 minutes.
  • Season with salt and serve after removing from the oven.
