Quick and easy rosemary beer bread with no yeast activation or rise time needed. Shortcut for a fast, delicious loaf.
Ingredients:
  • 5 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon table salt
  • 1 cup chilled vegetable shortening or unsalted butter
Instructions:
  • In a large mixing bowl, vigorously whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, sugar, and salt until well combined and evenly distributed.
  • In a food processor, pastry blender, or using your fingertips, blend the chilled shortening and/or butter with the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles sand.
  • Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C.); generously butter the bottom of a 9x5 loaf pan with 1 tablespoon of butter and set aside.
  • Combine 3 cups Homemade Bisquick with sugar, dried rosemary, garlic powder, thyme, garlic salt, and cayenne pepper. Pour in the beer and mix until smooth.
  • Transfer the flavorful beer mixture into a loaf pan and bake until beautifully golden-brown, for approximately 50 minutes.
  • Allow to cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then generously brush with the remaining 2 tablespoons of melted butter. Transfer to a wire rack and beautifully garnish with fresh rosemary. Let it cool for an additional 15 minutes before slicing.
