Innovative twist on classic Christmas cookies with no rolling needed for a quick and delicious treat!
Ingredients:
  • 1 egg
  • 2 1/4 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup very finely chopped pecans
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Line an 8-inch square pan with foil, leaving foil overhanging at two opposite sides; then, spray the foil with cooking spray. In a small bowl, combine flour, pecans, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
  • In a large bowl, whip together softened butter, granulated sugar, and 1/2 cup powdered sugar using an electric mixer until fluffy, about 1 minute. Add egg and vanilla, then slowly mix in the flour mixture until well combined. Spread the batter in the pan.
  • Bake until the top and edges are light brown, for 32 to 37 minutes. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar over the top immediately. Allow to cool completely for about 1 1/2 hours.
  • Lift the foil to remove the bars from the pan and cut into 64 squares. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar over the top before serving. Keep in an airtight container at room temperature.
