Succulent pork chops and tender squash kissed by maple and spices for a perfect balance of sweet and savory.
Ingredients:
  • 4 bone-in pork loin chops, 1/2 inch thick (about 1 3/4 lb)
  • 1 medium unpeeled buttercup squash, cut into 4 wedges
  • 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried sage leaves
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup real maple or maple-flavored syrup
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 425°F and generously spray a 15x10x1-inch pan with cooking spray. Arrange pork chops and squash in the pan. Season both sides of the pork chops and the squash with seasoned salt, sage, and garlic powder, making sure to distribute the seasonings evenly by rubbing them with your fingers.
  • Combine maple syrup and butter in a small bowl. Brush half of the mixture over the pork and squash, then cover the pan with foil.
  • Bake the pork chops for 40 minutes, then flip them over. Brush the pork chops and squash with the maple mixture. Bake uncovered for an additional 10 to 15 minutes, or until the pork is fully cooked and the squash is tender.
