Impress guests with this easy apple cake drizzled with decadent salted caramel.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ White Cake Mix
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 can (20 oz) apple pie filling
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 container (8 oz) frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 1/3 cup butterscotch chips
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan) and lightly grease the bottom of a 13 x 9-inch pan.
  • In a spacious bowl, use an electric mixer on low speed to blend together the cake mix, water, oil, and eggs for 2 minutes. Then, mix in the apple pie filling for an additional minute. Transfer the batter to the pan.
  • Follow the baking instructions on the box for a 13 x 9-inch pan. Allow the dish to cool in the pan on a rack for 20 minutes.
  • In a small bowl, combine 1/4 cup of caramel sauce with sea salt. Use a straw or wooden spoon handle to poke holes every inch into the warm cake. Drizzle the caramel-salt mixture over the cake, letting it seep into the holes.
  • Cover the cake in a layer of fluffy whipped topping. Drizzle the remaining 1/4 cup of caramel sauce over the top, then sprinkle with butterscotch chips for a delightful finish.
