Baked Ham and Swiss Cheese Breakfast Casserole: A savory brunch delight!
Ingredients:
  • cooking spray
  • 6 slices whole wheat bread, or more to taste
  • 1 tablespoon butter, or as needed
  • 12 slices deli ham, or more to taste
  • 6 slices Swiss cheese, or more to taste
  • 0.5 cup milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.5 teaspoon mustard powder
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously spray a 9x13-inch casserole dish with cooking spray.
  • Butter one side of each bread slice, then layer with 2 slices of ham and 1 slice of Swiss cheese. Place the open-faced sandwiches in the casserole dish, overlapping as needed to fit.
  • In a bowl, combine milk, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, mustard powder, salt, and pepper. Pour the mixture over the open-faced sandwiches and let it soak for at least 15 minutes.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes until the eggs are fully set and the casserole is cooked through.
