Create festive Santa sugar cookies for a fun decorating party with loved ones.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 package (3 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 3 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pouch (7 oz) Betty Crocker™ Cookie Icing red icing
  • Betty Crocker™ red sugar
  • 1 pouch (7 oz) Betty Crocker™ Cookie Icing white icing
  • 1 pouch (7 oz) Betty Crocker™ Cookie Icing blue icing
  • Red gum drops
  • Betty Crocker™ red cinnamon decors
Instructions:
  • Combine butter, cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, and egg in a large bowl. Use an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Add flour and salt, mix until well combined. Chill dough covered in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, up to 24 hours.
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F. Roll 1/4 of the dough at a time on a lightly floured surface until 1/8-inch thick. Keep the remaining dough refrigerated until ready to use. Use a Santa cookie cutter to cut out shapes and place them about 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
  • Bake the cookies until they turn light brown, then transfer them to cooling racks. Allow them to cool completely. Frost the cookies with red icing and sprinkle with red sugar crystals. Decorate with white and blue icing as desired, adding a gumdrop for a belt buckle and a cinnamon candy for the nose.
