Make irresistible Santa sugar cookies for all ages!
Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon red cinnamon candies
  • 1/2 cup fluffy white whipped ready-to-spread frosting (from 12-oz container)
  • 1/4 cup flaked coconut or edible glitter
  • 1 roll (0.75 oz) chewy fruit snack in 3-foot rolls (any red flavor)
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. In a large bowl, cream together sugar and butter using an electric mixer until well combined. Mix in vanilla extract and egg. Gradually add flour, baking soda, and salt on low speed until incorporated.
  • Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and then flatten each ball into a 1 1/2-inch round using your fingers. Place them 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Gently press 2 chocolate chips into the upper third of each dough round for the eyes.
  • Bake for 9 to 11 minutes until edges are lightly golden brown. Then, promptly place 1 cinnamon candy on top of each cookie for the nose. Transfer the cookies from the baking sheets to cooling racks and let them cool for 15 minutes.
  • Transfer the frosting into a small resealable bag, seal it, then cut off a small corner. Use the bag to pipe the frosting along the bottom edge of the cookie and above the cinnamon candy to create a beard. Sprinkle coconut over the frosting and press it gently to stick.
  • Cut the fruit snack into 2-inch-long pieces. Cut each piece diagonally in half to create 2 triangles. Use a small amount of frosting to stick a fruit snack triangle onto each cookie as a hat. Fold the top corner of each triangle over and pipe frosting "tassel" on the pointed end of each "hat."
