Grilled sausages with sauerkraut in a rich buttery sauce, a flavorful German-inspired dish.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (12 ounce) package pork sausage, halved and cut into 4-inch pieces
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil butter spread
  • 1 (32 ounce) jar sauerkraut, drained
  • 1 teaspoon dried celery flakes
  • 1 tablespoon dried minced onion
  • 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • Preheat your outdoor grill to medium-high heat and brush the grate lightly with oil.
  • Grill sausages on the preheated grill until nicely browned, approximately 3 minutes per side. Slice the cooked sausage into 1/2-inch pieces.
  • Cook the sausage until golden. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt butter spread and combine sauerkraut, celery flakes, onion, caraway seeds, brown sugar, and pepper. Cook until sauerkraut browns, for about 10 minutes. Add the sausage slices and serve hot.
