Elevate your Italian dinner with a tasty Bisquick® sausage pizza!
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound bulk pork sausage
  • 1 can (8 ounces) pizza sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
  • 2 cups Original Bisquick™ mix
  • 1/4 cup process cheese spread (room temperature)
  • 1/4 cup hot water
  • Green and red bell pepper rings, if desired
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (4 ounces)
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F and place the oven rack on the lowest position. Coat a large cookie sheet with cooking spray. Cook sausage in a 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until no longer pink; drain any excess grease. Mix in pizza sauce and oregano, then set aside.
  • Combine Bisquick mix, cheese sauce, and hot water, stirring until a soft dough forms. Transfer the dough to a surface sprinkled with Bisquick mix, rolling it to coat. Shape the dough into a ball, knead 5 times, then roll it into a 14-inch circle and place it on a cookie sheet.
  • Spread the savory sausage mixture generously over the dough, leaving a 3-inch border. Fold the edge of the dough over the flavorful filling. Arrange colorful bell pepper rings on top. Sprinkle a generous amount of cheese over the sausage mixture. Bake in the oven for 23 to 25 minutes until the crust is a light golden brown and the cheese is perfectly melted.
