Sausage scrolls

Try our delicious kid-friendly sausage roll twist, perfect with tomato chutney or for a convenient school lunch option.
Ingredients:
  • 500g sausage mince
  • 1 large carrot, peeled, coarsely grated
  • 1 brown onion, halved, finely chopped
  • 2.50 gm curry powder
  • 6 sheets (25 x 25cm) ready-rolled frozen puff pastry, just thawed
  • Tomato chutney, to serve
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 180C and line 4 baking trays with non-stick baking paper.
  • Combine mince, carrot, onion, and curry powder in a bowl and mix well by hand. Divide the mixture into 6 equal portions. Spread 1 portion along the edge of each pastry sheet, roll up tightly, and slice into 1cm-thick pieces. Arrange on trays and bake.
  • Bake half of the scrolls in a preheated oven, rotating trays midway through, until golden brown and puffed, about 15 minutes. Then bake the remaining scrolls the same way. Arrange on a platter and serve with tomato chutney.
