Create delicious turkey, cranberry, and camembert puff pastry pinwheels for a crowd-pleasing snack.
Ingredients:
  • 18.20 gm extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 brown onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 500g turkey mince
  • 125.00 ml panko breadcrumbs
  • 100g camembert, finely chopped
  • 96.53 gm cranberry sauce, plus extra to serve
  • 20.00 ml chopped fresh sage leaves
  • 4 sheets frozen puff pastry, partially thawed
  • 6.00 gm sesame seeds
  • 0.63 gm sweet paprika
  • Fresh flat-leaf parsley leaves, to serve
Instructions:
  • In a small frying pan over medium-high heat, warm oil. Sauté onion, stirring occasionally, until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in garlic and cook for an additional minute. Let cool completely.
  • Preheat your oven to 200C/180C fan-forced and prepare 3 large baking trays with baking paper.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the mince, cooled onion mixture, breadcrumbs, camembert, cranberry sauce, sage, and half of the egg. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Lay 1 pastry sheet on a flat surface, leaving a 1cm border at the top. Spread 1/4 of the mince mixture evenly over the pastry. Roll up the pastry from the end closest to you to enclose the filling. Lightly brush the roll with some of the remaining egg, then sprinkle with 1/4 of the sesame seeds and paprika. Season to taste.
  • Prepare the roll by trimming and discarding the ends. Cut it into 1cm-thick slices. Arrange the slices cut-side down on the prepared trays, ensuring enough space for them to spread out. Repeat the same process with the remaining pastry, mince mixture, egg, sesame seeds, and paprika. Bake two trays at a time for 20 to 25 minutes until golden, puffed, and the filling is cooked through. Repeat with the remaining tray. Let it stand for 5 minutes, then sprinkle with parsley and serve with extra cranberry sauce.
