Sauteed beans and asparagus with garlic and chive butter

Festive Christmas side with crispy green beans and asparagus.
Ingredients:
  • 18.20 gm olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
  • 300g fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 3 bunches asparagus
  • 50g butter, chopped
  • 40.00 ml chopped fresh chives
Instructions:
  • In a large frying pan over medium heat, gently sauté garlic in oil for 1 minute until just softened (avoid browning). Stir in beans and cook for 3 to 5 minutes until they become vibrant green. Transfer the flavorful beans and garlic to a serving bowl.
  • Place the fresh asparagus in the pan and sauté until just turning bright green. Lower the heat, then add back the beans and garlic. Toss in butter and chives, stirring until the butter melts. Season with salt and pepper, then it's ready to serve.
