Elegant winter quiche with flaky puff pastry, caramelized cabbage, creamy Swiss cheese, ideal for weekend indulgence.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 medium head cabbage, sliced
  • salt to taste
  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1.3333333730698 cups shredded Swiss cheese
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to a toasty 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, warm oil. Add cabbage and cook for 18 minutes. Stir in butter and season with salt. Cook until cabbage is soft, about 2 more minutes.
  • On a lightly floured surface, roll out puff pastry into a large square. Gently place it into a springform pan, letting the corners drape over the edges.
  • Combine the egg and water in a bowl, then gently fold in the Swiss cheese.
  • Spread the cooked cabbage evenly over the pastry in the pan, then pour the egg mixture on top. Fold the pastry corners over the filling and press together in the center.
  • Bake until the pastry turns a beautiful golden brown, approximately 25 minutes in the preheated oven.
