Spooky Halloween Baked Brie with just 5 ingredients for a show-stopping appetizer.
Ingredients:
  • (13.2 ounce) Brie round
  • 2 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon cherry preserves, divided
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped nuts, such as almonds, pecans, or walnuts
  • 1/2 (17.3 ounce) package frozen puff pastry sheets, thawed
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • Sliced apples, crackers, bread, and grapes. for serving
Instructions:
  • Heat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Cut the Brie round in half horizontally. Spread half of the preserves on the bottom half, then sprinkle with nuts. Put the top half over the nuts and preserves with the rind facing up. Spread the remaining preserves over the top and set aside.
  • On a floured surface, trim 1 inch of a puff pastry sheet from one end to create a square shape. Roll out the square sheet slightly. Cut out 2 "eyes" and a "mouth" from the center of the square. Shape a nose from the trimmed pastry and place it in the center of the Brie round over the preserves.
  • Gently place square dough over the Brie, shaping a face. Add eyelids, lips, and details with more dough pieces. Trim excess and seal pastry around the cheese underneath. Put the wrapped Brie, seam side down, on a baking sheet. Brush with beaten egg.
  • Bake until perfectly golden for about 20 minutes, then top with the remaining preserves for a bloody effect. Serve on a platter with your favorite sides and insert a cheese knife on the side for a spooky touch.
