Make spooky Scary Monster Cupcakes with cake mix, vibrant frosting, and candy eyeballs for a fun Halloween treat. Perfect for October gatherings or classroom parties. Get the kids involved for a fun decorating activity!
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ Yellow Cake Mix or 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on cake mix box
  • 2 tubs (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Vanilla Frosting
  • Betty Crocker™ classic and neon gel food colors (orange, purple, yellow, blue and lime green)
  • 1 package (0.88 oz) Betty Crocker™ Candy Shop candy eyeballs
  • 2 tubes (0.68 oz each) Betty Crocker™ black decorating gel
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F. Line 24 regular-size muffin cups with paper baking cups. Prepare the cake mix as instructed on the box to make cupcakes. Let them cool for 10 minutes, then transfer to cooling racks. Allow the cupcakes to cool completely for about 30 minutes.
  • Split the frosting into five small bowls. Mix 1 teaspoon of your chosen color gel food color into each bowl. Transfer each colored frosting into individual piping bags with your preferred tip. Pipe the frosting onto the cupcakes to create a monster fur effect.
  • Add a fun touch to your cupcakes by customizing each one with candy eyeballs and colorful decorating gel.
