Classic Scottish shortbread made with real butter for a crumbly, melt-in-your-mouth texture and a rich, buttery flavor.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 4.5 cups all-purpose flour
Instructions:
  • Prepare all your delicious ingredients.
  • Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C) for the perfect baking temperature.
  • Cream together butter and brown sugar until smooth and creamy.
  • Mix in a generous 3 3/4 cups of flour until fully incorporated.
  • Sprinkle your work surface with the remaining flour and knead the dough for 5 minutes until you reach a soft and smooth consistency, adding more flour as needed.
  • Flatten dough to 1/2-inch thickness, then slice into 3x1-inch strips.
  • Use a fork to pierce shortbread cookies and place on baking sheets without greasing.
  • Bake in the oven until edges turn golden brown, for about 20-25 minutes. Let it cool on the baking sheet briefly before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
